Boulder Beast . September 19, 2020 . Lock Haven, PA

Bald Eagle Mountain, Lock Haven PA

Welcome to the 5th annual Boulder Beast
Join us on a course that started all the craze here in central PA. The infamous boulder field awaits you!!!!  We brought back Goat Path, Lightning Ridge, Black Diamond, Crossover, Fleming Way, Chestnut Flats and the Gorge Trail in 2018. And of course we'll be keeping the Link, Boulders, Zindel Park, Rote Overlook, the Luge, Gut Check, and the Kammerdiner, After all the good feedback this year, we plan on keeping this exact course for years to come!!! Expect the course to be about 25 miles long with approximately 6,000 feet of vertical gain. The fun begins on Friday night with a pre-race party and bag pick-up. After finishing, stick around and enjoy the typical PA Trail Dogs post-race picnic with great food and beverages.

Before signing up — Please understand that this event is not for everyone. It is 25 miles through some pretty tough and diverse terrain and will require some rigorous training on everyone's part. We have strict cut-off times at various places on the course — Zindel Park Aid Station Mile 11 (12:30pm), Vets+ Aid Station Mile 15.5 (2:30pm) and CRTF Aid Station Mile 21 (5:00pm). The cut-off times are created to ensure our participants finish in the daylight. There will be no exceptions to these cut-offs. They are in place for the safety of our runners and the compassion we have for our volunteers. If you don't agree with our cut-offs, please refrain from signing up. Any runner disregarding these cut-offs will be banned from future Boulder Beasts and all PA Trail Dog events. Paying a race fee does not entitle one to make their own rules. Our volunteers are the backbone of this event and are not expendable.

All in all, we're looking to make this a most memorable experience for everyone signed up. As with all of our PA Trail Dog races, we're just a fun group of trail runners putting on a great trail event. We're excited to get back to a more runnable course, but make no mistake, legs will be trembling at the finish line!!!

Registration is open to the first 500 runners. No Refunds. No Deferrals. No bandits. No exceptions.

Registration opens 12/16/19 for the 2020 Boulder Beast

Can’t begin to tell ya how much fun I just had today jog-walking my way through the PA Trail Dog’s Boulder Beast 24-miler. Stupidly beautiful. Climbing on all fours through boulder fields, technical descents, then really runnable sections. The people were great. Course marked great. Volunteers amazing. I give this a 10/10. See ya in April for #Hyner.
